Menteri Kesihatan, Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad berkata, langkah KKM mewartakan Akta 852 bermula 2 Februari lalu adalah dalam usaha untuk mengekang penggunaan produk tembakau serta mengurangkan kemudaratan akibat merokok dan penggunaan lain-lain produk tembakau termasuk rokok elektronik atau vape. Kajian Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS) Malaysia 2023 menunjukkan peningkatan peratus pengguna rokok elektronik atau vape yang amat ketara terutamanya di kalangan orang dewasa yang berusia kurang 50 tahun sangat membimbangkan dan memerlukan tindakan yang tuntas.

Together, Let's Protect Young Lungs!

“Together, Let’s Protect Young Lungs!” warns about the dangers of vaping. It describes how the tobacco industry targets youth with devices that cause severe lung damage, addiction, and serious health issues like “popcorn lungs” and EVALI. It cites alarming statistics, including 2,807 hospital visits and 68 deaths in the USA in 2020 and 69 cases of vape poisoning in children in Malaysia. It urges viewers to choose a vape-free lifestyle by saying no to vaping.

Youth Against Vaping

“Youth Against Vaping” is a video aimed at educating youth about the dangers of vaping. The video highlights how the tobacco industry targets youth with attractive designs and flavours of e-cingarettes and vapes by deceptive marketing, while neglecting various health issues such as shortness of breath, pneumothorax, and E-cigarette- or Vaping-Use-Associated lung injury (EVALI). Ultimately, it encourages young people to reject vaping by making wiser choices towards a vape-free generation.

WTND - SEGARUN 2024

In conjunction with WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY (WNTD) -SEGARUN 2024 – “Langkah Sihat, Kelestarian Sejagat : “Protecting Children from Tobacco Industry Interference”” , we welcome all Malaysians to participate in the 5km Walk, Run or Cycle on Sunday 2nd June 2024 from 6.30am – 11 am at Dataran DBKL Jalan Raja Laut #Solidarity4GE

Who We Are

Malaysian Women’s Action for Tobacco Control and Health (MyWATCH) / Pertubuhan Wanita Malaysia untuk Kawalan Tembakau dan Kesihatan was conceptualised in 2003/4 and formally registered as a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in 2005 (with registration license PPM-011-10-30032005) with civil society responsibilities that has pioneered various initiatives and programmes in Tobacco Control and Health.
